Trastorno de personalidad antisocial - Overview

Definición:

Es una afección de salud mental por la cual una persona tiene un patrón prolongado de manipulación, explotación o violación de los derechos de otros. A menudo este comportamiento es delictivo.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

Las causas del trastorno de personalidad antisocial se desconocen, pero se cree que factores genéticos y el maltrato infantil contribuyen a su desarrollo. Las personas con padres antisociales o alcohólicos están en mayor riesgo. Los hombres resultan de lejos muchísimo más afectados que las mujeres y esta afección es común en las personas que están en prisión.

El hecho de prender fuegos y la crueldad con los animales durante la infancia están ligados al desarrollo de la personalidad antisocial.

Algunas personas creen que la personalidad psicopática (psicopatía) es el mismo trastorno. Otras creen que la personalidad psicopática es un trastorno similar pero más grave.
