Trastorno de dolor
El síntoma principal de este trastorno es un dolor crónico que dura varios meses y que limita el trabajo, las relaciones interpersonales y otras actividades de la persona.
Los pacientes con frecuencia están muy preocupados o estresados por su dolor.
Se hace una evaluación médica completa, incluyendo estudios de laboratorio y exámenes radiológicos (resonancia magnética, tomografía computarizada, ecografía, radiografía) para determinar las posibles causas del dolor.
El trastorno de dolor somatomorfo se diagnostica cuando estos exámenes no revelan una fuente clara del dolor.
