Trastorno de personalidad paranoide

Definición:

Es una afección psiquiátrica en la cual una persona presenta desconfianza y recelos de los demás en forma prolongada, pero no tiene un trastorno psicótico completo como en la esquizofrenia.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

Las causas del trastorno de personalidad paranoica se desconocen. El trastorno parece ser más común en familias con trastornos psicóticos, como la esquizofrenia y el trastorno delirante, lo cual sugiere que los genes pueden estar involucrados. Sin embargo, los factores ambientales también pueden jugar un papel.

La afección parece ser más común en los hombres.
