Trastorno evitativo de la personalidad

Tratamiento:

Los medicamentos antidepresivos a menudo pueden hacer que las personas sean menos sensibles al rechazo. Sin embargo, la terapia psicológica (psicoterapia) se considera el tratamiento más efectivo para esta afección.

La terapia psicodinámica, que ayuda a los pacientes a entender sus pensamientos y sentimientos, y la terapia conductual cognitiva (TCC) pueden ayudar. Asimismo, una combinación de medicamentos y psicoterapia puede ser más efectiva que cualquiera de los tratamientos por separado.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

Las personas con este trastorno pueden desarrollar cierta habilidad para relacionarse con los demás y esto se puede mejorar con el tratamiento.

Complicaciones:

Sin tratamiento, una persona con este trastorno puede llegar a resignarse a una vida caracterizada por el aislamiento total o casi total. Estas personas pueden pasar a desarrollar un segundo trastorno psiquiátrico, como la drogadicción, o un trastorno del estado de ánimo como la depresión.
