Dermatitis del pañal inducida por irritantes

Definición:

Es una erupción del pañal causada por irritantes químicos y no por infección bacteriana o micótica (candidiasis). Entre los irritantes comunes se encuentran el amoníaco (que se produce cuando las bacterias descomponen la úrea en la orina), los ácidos de las heces, sobre todo cuando hay diarrea , y los jabones y otros productos utilizados para el lavado de los pañales de tela.
