Convulsión inducida por fiebre
Debido a que las convulsiones febriles se pueden presentar como la primera señal de alguna enfermedad, su prevención a menudo no es posible. Una convulsión febril inicial o recurrente no indica que el niño está siendo atendido inapropiadamente.
Ocasionalmente, un médico prescribirá diazepam para prevenir o tratar convulsiones febriles recurrentes. Sin embargo, los padres tienen que admitir que ningún medicamento es completamente efectivo para prevenir este tipo de convulsiones.
