Tratamiento:

No hay tratamiento conocido. Sin embargo, hay gafas y lentes de contacto especiales que le pueden ayudar a las personas con daltonismo a diferenciar entre colores similares.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

El daltonismo es una afección de por vida y la mayoría de las personas pueden adaptarse a esto sin dificultad o impedimento.

Posibles complicaciones:

Es posible que las personas que sufren daltonismo no puedan conseguir un trabajo que requiera la capacidad para ver los colores con precisión. Por ejemplo, los electricistas (cables codificados por colores), los pintores, los diseñadores de moda (telas) y los cocineros (usar el color de la carne para decir si está lista) necesitan ser capaces de ver los colores con precisión.
