Inflamación de la esclerótica
Es la inflamación de la esclerótica, la pared exterior blanca del ojo.
La inflamación de la esclerótica por lo regular está asociada con enfermedades autoinmunitarias, como artritis reumatoidea y lupus eritematoso sistémico. Algunas veces la causa se desconoce.
La escleritis es más frecuente en personas con edades comprendidas entre los 30 y los 60 años y es rara en los niños.
