Estrabismo - Symptom

Síntomas:

Los síntomas del estrabismo pueden estar presentes todo el tiempo o sólo cuando usted está cansado o enfermo.

Los ojos no se mueven juntos y pueden parecer bizcos a veces.

El otro ojo parecerá volteado hacia afuera, arriba o abajo a partir de donde se enfoca el primer ojo.

Alguien con estrabismo también puede tener:

Pérdida de la percepción de profundidad
Visión doble
Pérdida de la visión

Signos y exámenes:

El examen físico abarcará una revisión detallada de los ojos. Igualmente se llevarán a cabo exámenes para determinar qué tan desalineados están los ojos.

Los exámenes de los ojos comprenden:

Reflejo corneal a la luz
Prueba de oclusión/desoclusión
Examen de la retina
Examen oftálmico estándar
Agudeza visual

También se lleva a cabo un examen del cerebro y el sistema nervioso (neurológico).
