Lipogranuloma de la glándula de Meibomio
Es una protuberancia pequeña en el párpado causada por un bloqueo de una pequeña glándula sebácea.
Un chalazión se desarrolla dentro de las glándulas que producen el líquido que lubrica el ojo, llamadas glándulas de Meibomio. El párpado tiene aproximadamente 100 de estas glándulas, las cuales están localizadas cerca a las pestañas.
Un chalazión es causado por una obstrucción del conducto que drena una de estas glándulas.
