Ectropión
Tratamiento:
Para aliviar la resequedad y mantener la córnea lubricada se pueden utilizar lágrimas artificiales como lubricante. La cirugÃa para ajustar los músculos que sostienen los párpados en su lugar es generalmente efectiva y se puede realizar como cirugÃa ambulatoria con anestesia local.
Expectativas (pronóstico):
Si se realiza tratamiento, los resultados son buenos.
Complicaciones:
La resequedad de la córnea y la irritación pueden crear en el paciente una predisposición a las infecciones oculares, a las abrasiones corneales o a las úlceras de la córnea .
Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:
Se debe buscar asistencia médica si se presentan sÃntomas para verificar la presencia de abrasiones o úlceras corneales. Estas úlceras son una afección que afecta peligrosamente la visión.
El enrojecimiento, el dolor o la sensibilidad a la luz que aumentan rápidamente o la disminución en la visión se deben considerar una situación de emergencia en una persona con ectropión.
