Astigmatismo - Treatment

Tratamiento:

Es posible que el astigmatismo leve no necesite corrección.

El astigmatismo se corregirá con anteojos o con lentes de contacto.

La cirugía con láser puede ayudar a cambiar la forma de la superficie corneal para corregir el astigmatismo, junto con la miopía o la hipermetropía.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

Las gafas o los lentes de contacto apropiados o la corrección de la visión con láser generalmente pueden corregir la visión a normal.

Complicaciones:

El astigmatismo no corregido en sólo un ojo puede causar ambliopía.

Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:

Solicite una cita con el médico o el oftalmólogo si los problemas de visión empeoran o no se presenta mejoría con anteojos o lentes de contacto.
