Astigmatismo - Tratamiento

Tratamiento:

El tratamiento para corregir este defecto de la visión son los anteojos o los lentes de contacto duros, ya que los blandos no funcionan tan bien.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

La visión es generalmente normal si se utilizan los lentes de contacto o anteojos correctos.

Complicaciones:

Si se usan lentes de contacto, se pueden presentar las complicaciones asociadas con estos (incluido el riesgo de abrasión corneal).
El astigmatismo desigual puede causar ambliopía.

Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:

Se debe buscar asistencia médica u oftalmológica si los problemas de visión empeoran o no se presenta mejoría con los anteojos o lentes de contacto.
