Cáncer de garganta o laringe
Definición:
Es el cáncer de las cuerdas vocales (laringe) u otras áreas de la garganta.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:
Las personas que fuman o consumen tabaco están en riesgo de sufrir cáncer en la garganta. El consumo de alcohol en exceso también aumenta el riesgo y quienes tienen el hábito de fumar y consumir alcohol al mismo tiempo están bajo un riesgo extremo de presentar este tipo de cáncer.
La mayorÃa de estos cánceres de garganta se presentan en adultos mayores de 50 años y los hombres tienen 10 veces más probabilidad que las mujeres de sufrirlos.
