Prevención:

Utilice las técnicas apropiadas al practicar un deporte o hacer ejercicio. Algunos programas deportivos universitarios para mujeres han reducido estas lesiones a través de un plan de entrenamiento que enseña a las atletas la forma de minimizar la tensión que ejercen sobre el LCA.

Aunque es un asunto de controversia, el uso de abrazaderas para las rodillas durante la actividad atlética agresiva, como el fútbol americano, no ha mostrado una disminución de la incidencia de lesiones de rodilla y le puede dar al jugador una sensación falsa de seguridad.
