Latidos cardíacos ectópicos - Treatment

Tratamiento:

La mayoría de los latidos cardíacos ectópicos no requieren tratamiento. La afección se trata si los síntomas son severos o si los latidos extra son muy frecuentes.

La causa subyacente, si se descubre alguna, también puede requerir tratamiento.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

Los latidos cardíacos ectópicos suelen ser benignos y no requieren tratamiento. Ocasionalmente, pueden indicar un incremento en el riesgo de desarrollar otras arritmias cardíacas.

Complicaciones:

Taquicardia ventricular (ocasionalmente)
Otras arritmias (ocasionalmente)

Nota: no suele haber complicaciones.

Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:

Consulte con el médico si presenta palpitaciones persistentes o palpitaciones acompañadas de dolor torácico u otros síntomas.

Igualmente, consulte con el médico si ya padece esta afección y los síntomas empeoran o no mejoran con el tratamiento.
