Signos y exámenes:
El diagnóstico se basa inicialmente en la apariencia caracterÃstica de las piernas cuando el paciente está parado o sentado con las piernas balanceándose. A veces, un médico puede ordenar una ecografÃa dúplex de la extremidad para observar el flujo sanguÃneo, caracterizar los vasos y descartar otros trastornos de las piernas. Rara vez, se puede llevar a cabo una angiografÃa de las piernas para descartar otros trastornos.
