Colitis
Definición:
Es una inflamación del intestino grueso (colon).
Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:
La colitis es una inflamación del intestino grueso que puede ser ocasionada por muchos diferentes procesos patológicos que incluyen, entre otros: infecciones agudas  y crónicas , trastornos inflamatorios (colitis ulcerativa, colitis de Crohn, colitis linfocÃtica y colitis colagenosa), falta de flujo sanguÃneo (colitis isquémica) y antecedentes de radiación al intestino grueso.
