Colitis - Symptom

El médico llevará a cabo un examen físico y hará preguntas acerca de los síntomas, incluyendo:

  • ¿Por cuánto tiempo ha tenido los síntomas?
  • ¿Qué tan intenso es su dolor?
  • ¿Con qué frecuencia se presenta?
  • ¿Cuánto dura?
  • ¿Con qué frecuencia tiene diarrea?
  • Si usted ha estado viajando

El médico puede diagnosticar la colitis insertando una sonda flexible en el recto ( sigmoidoscopia flexible o colonoscopia) y evaluando áreas específicas del colon. Las biopsias tomadas durante estos exámenes pueden mostrar cambios relacionados con la inflamación.
