Reflujo gastroesofágico en bebés - Symptom

Síntomas:

  • Tos, especialmente después de comer
  • Llanto excesivo como si se tuviera dolor
  • Vómito excesivo durante las primeras semanas de vida; empeora después de comer
  • Vómito extremadamente fuerte
  • No alimentarse bien
  • Negarse a comer
  • Crecimiento lento
  • Pérdida de peso
  • Sibilancias u otros problemas respiratorios

Pruebas y exámenes:

El médico a menudo puede hacer el diagnóstico con base en los síntomas y el examen físico del bebé.

Se pueden ordenar exámenes si su hijo no está saludable o creciendo bien o cuando los síntomas son severos y no mejoran con tratamiento. Los exámenes que se pueden realizar abarcan:

  • Control del pH esofágico para determinar con qué frecuencia y durante cuánto tiempo el ácido gástrico ingresa al esófago
  • Radiografía del esófago
  • Radiografía de las vías digestivas altas después de que se le ha dado a beber al bebé un líquido especial, llamado medio de contraste
