Enterocolitis necrosante

Es la muerte del tejido intestinal y afecta principalmente a los bebés prematuros o recién nacidos enfermos.

La enterocolitis necrosante ocurre cuando el revestimiento de la pared intestinal muere y el tejido se desprende. Se desconoce la causa de este trastorno, pero se cree que la disminución del flujo sanguíneo hacia el intestino impide que éste produzca el moco que protege el tracto gastrointestinal. Las bacterias del intestino pueden ser también un factor causante.
