Muchas personas con hepatitis B o C no tienen sÃntomas cuando resultan infectadas por primera vez, pero igual pueden presentar insuficiencia hepática posteriormente. Si la persona tiene cualquier factor de riesgo para cualquier tipo de hepatitis, debe hacerse exámenes periódicamente.
Un examen fÃsico puede mostrar una coloración amarillenta de la piel, agrandamiento y sensibilidad del hÃgado o lÃquido en el abdomen (ascitis) que puede resultar infectado.
