Tratamiento:

El médico analizará con usted los posibles tratamientos, dependiendo de la causa de la enfermedad hepática y le puede recomendar una dieta rica en calorías si usted está bajando de peso.

Hay grupos de apoyo para personas que sufren todos los tipos de hepatitis, los cuales pueden ayudar al paciente a conocer lo último en tratamientos y a enfrentar mejor el hecho de tener la enfermedad.

  • Cáncer del hígado
  • Insuficiencia hepática
  • Daño hepático permanente, llamado cirrosis

Busque atención médica inmediata si:

  • Tiene síntomas a causa de demasiado paracetamol u otros medicamentos y puede necesitar que le hagan un lavado del estómago
  • Vomita sangre
  • Presenta heces con sangre o alquitranosas
  • Está confundido o delira

Llame al médico si:

  • Tiene cualquier síntoma de hepatitis o cree que ha estado expuesto a las hepatitis A, B o C.
  • No puede retener alimento debido al vómito excesivo. Es posible que necesite recibir nutrición por vía intravenosa (a través de una vena).
  • Se siente enfermo y ha viajado a Asia, África, América del Sur o Centroamérica.
