Sobreproducción ovárica de andrógenos - Symptom

Síntomas:

Hiperandrogenismo:

  • Acné
  • Amenorrea (ausencia de períodos menstruales)
  • Cambios en el contorno corporal femenino
  • Disminución del tamaño de las mamas
  • Aumento del vello corporal en un patrón masculino (hirsutismo), como por ejemplo en la cara, el mentón y el abdomen
  • Piel grasosa

Virilización:

  • Clitoromegalia (agrandamiento del clítoris)
  • Engrosamiento de la voz
  • Incremento en la masa muscular
  • Calvicie temporal (adelgazamiento y pérdida del cabello)

Signos y exámenes:

El médico llevará a cabo un examen físico. Cualquier examen de sangre o imagenológico dependerá de los síntomas específicos, pero puede incluir:

  • Examen de 17-hidroxiprogesterona
  • Examen de corticotropina
  • Tomografía computarizada
  • Examen de sangre para deshidroepiandrosterona
  • Examen de glucosa
  • Examen de insulina
  • Ecografía de la pelvis
  • Examen de prolactina (si los períodos son infrecuentes o ausentes)
  • Examen de testosterona
  • Examen de colesterol total
  • Examen de hormona estimulante de la tiroides (si hay calvicie)
