Alcalosis

Síntomas:

• Confusión (puede progresar a estupor o coma)
• Contorsión muscular
• Temblor de mano
• Espasmos musculares prolongados (tetania)
• Náuseas, vómitos
• Entumecimiento u hormigueo en la cara o las extremidades
• Mareo

Signos y exámenes:

• Los exámenes de pH indican alcalosis o acidosis
• Los exámenes de niveles de dióxido de carbono y bicarbonato indican la causa de la alcalosis, ya sea respiratoria (relacionada con el pulmón) o metabólica (relacionada con el riñón)

Algunos de estos exámenes son:

• Gases arteriales sanguíneos (o gases en la sangre venosa)
• Análisis de orina
• Papel tornasol (exámenes de orina con tirilla reactiva)
