Distrofia muscular

Es un grupo de trastornos que involucra debilidad muscular progresiva y pérdida de tejido muscular.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:
El grupo de enfermedades llamadas distrofias musculares comprende muchos trastornos hereditarios, tales como:
- Distrofia muscular de Becker
- Distrofia muscular de Duchenne
- Distrofia muscular facioescapulohumeral
- Distrofia muscular de la cintura escapulohumeral o pélvica
- Distrofia muscular de Emery-Dreifuss
- Distrofia miotónica
- MiotonÃa congénita
El sÃndrome de Lambert-Eaton y la miastenia grave también tienen sÃntomas similares a los que se presentan en las primeras etapas de algunos tipos de distrofias musculares, por lo que se deben descartar antes de hacer un diagnóstico de las distrofias musculares.
