Tratamiento:

El reemplazo de la hormona del crecimiento puede ayudar si dicha hormona falta. Otros tratamientos abarcan:

  • Asegurarse de que la persona consuma suficientes calorías
  • Fisioterapia
  • Educación especial

Es posible que muchos especialistas intervengan en el tratamiento de esta afección:

  • Un médico especialista en genética ayuda a diagnosticar este síndrome.
  • Un gastroenterólogo o un nutricionista ayuda a desarrollar la dieta apropiada para estimular el crecimiento.
  • Un endocrinólogo prescribe hormona del crecimiento, si se necesita.
  • También pueden participar psicólogos y orientadores en genética.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

Los niños mayores y los adultos no muestran rasgos típicos tan claramente como los bebés o los niños pequeños. La inteligencia puede ser normal, aunque el paciente puede tener una dificultad de aprendizaje.

Complicaciones:

  • Problemas emocionales y de autoestima relacionados con la apariencia
