Displasia fibrosa poliostótica

Síntomas:

  • Manchas de color café con leche irregulares y en forma de parche, especialmente en la espalda
  • Sangrado vaginal (primera menstruación) a muy temprana edad
  • Pubertad prematura
    • desarrollo prematuro de las mamas
    • desarrollo prematuro del vello púbico y axilar
  • Incremento en la incidencia de huesos fracturados
  • En raras ocasiones, se presenta una forma de gigantismo (un crecimiento exagerado del cuerpo causado por el exceso de hormonas)

Los exámenes pueden mostrar signos de hipertiroidismo, hiperparatiroidismo, exceso de hormonas suprarrenales, exceso de prolactina en la sangre o exceso de la hormona del crecimiento (somatotropina).

Las radiografías muestran displasia fibrosa que afecta a múltiples huesos y una IRM de la cabeza puede mostrar un tipo de tumor llamado adenoma en la hipófisis. Igualmente, se puede disponer de pruebas genéticas para el gen GNAS1.
