Síntomas:

El síntoma principal es el dolor que no mejora con el reposo o con analgésicos y que sigue empeorando con el tiempo. Si se deja que la presión persista, habrá:

Disminución en la sensibilidad
Palidez de la piel
Debilidad

Signos y exámenes:

El médico llevará a cabo un examen físico. Si usted padece el síndrome compartimental en el antebrazo, experimentará dolor intenso cuando el médico le mueva los dedos de la mano hacia arriba y hacia abajo. El antebrazo puede estar muy hinchado y brillante. Igualmente sentirá dolor cuando se le apriete el antebrazo.

El diagnóstico se puede confirmar con un examen que mide directamente la presión en el área, lo cual implica introducir una aguja en el área afectada. La aguja va pegada a un medidor de presión. Hay un nivel de presión específico que confirma el diagnóstico del síndrome compartimental.

El tratamiento implica liberar la presión en el antebrazo. Los dedos de la mano y la muñeca también se pueden estirar de manera que estén en una posición doblada (flexión) para evitar la contractura. Los dedos de la mano y la mano se mueven para evitar la rigidez.
