Para confirmar el diagnóstico, el médico medirá directamente la presión en el compartimento. Eso se hace empleando una aguja que va pegada a un medidor de presión dentro del compartimento. La aguja se introduce dentro del área afectada. Las mediciones específicas de la presión llevarán a un diagnóstico del síndrome compartimental.
Cuando el médico sospecha el síndrome compartimental crónico, este examen se debe realizar durante y después de la actividad que ocasiona el dolor.
