Pie zambo

Definición:

Se observa al nacer y se presenta cuando el pie se curva hacia adentro y hacia abajo.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

El pie zambo es el trastorno más común de las extremidades inferiores que se presenta en los niños al momento de nacer y puede ir de leve y flexible a grave y rígido.

La causa se desconoce, pero puede ser una condición hereditaria en algunos casos. Los factores de riesgo incluyen tener antecedentes familiares del trastorno y pertenecer al sexo masculino. Se presenta en aproximadamente 1 de cada 1.000 nacimientos vivos.
