Juanetes

Definición:

Se presenta cuando el dedo gordo del pie apunta hacia el segundo dedo, ocasionado una protuberancia en el borde del pie, en la articulación de dicho dedo gordo.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

Los juanetes son causados por el uso de calzados de punta estrecha y tacón alto que comprimen el dedo gordo y lo empujan hacia el segundo dedo. La condición puede volverse dolorosa a medida que el hueso extra y el saco lleno de líquido crecen en la base del dedo gordo. Esto lleva a que se presente dolor, hinchazón e inflamación. Esta condición es más frecuente en las mujeres y algunas veces se presenta en familias.
