Enfermedad granulomatosa crónica - Treatment

Tratamiento:

Las infecciones agudas se deben tratar agresivamente con los antibióticos apropiados. Los antibióticos también se pueden prescribir para prevenir la infección (profilácticos) y se toman diariamente para tratar de disminuir la frecuencia de ésta. El interferón-gamma también puede ser útil para reducir el número de infecciones severas. Cuando se forman los abscesos, de ser posible, los debe tratar un cirujano.

La única cura para la enfermedad granulomatosa crónica es un trasplante de médula ósea.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

El tratamiento prolongado con antibióticos puede ayudar a reducir las infecciones, pero la muerte prematura suele ser el resultado típico de las infecciones pulmonares repetitivas.

Daño al hueso
Neumonía crónica
Daño pulmonar
Daño a la piel

Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:
