Tratamiento:

El principal tratamiento para el hiperparatiroidismo es la cirugía de extirpación de la(s) glándula(s) paratiroides anormal(es). Algunas de las técnicas más modernas incluyen el uso de trazadores radiactivos y la realización de exámenes de sangre para hormona paratiroidea rápidos para que la cirugía sea más fácil y más ágil. Si no es posible realizar una cirugía, algunas veces se pueden utilizar medicamentos para disminuir los niveles de calcio.

Complicaciones:

Algunas de las complicaciones de la osteítis fibrosa son las fracturas, dolor y deformidades de los huesos. También se pueden presentar otros problemas a causa del hiperparatiroidismo en sí, tales como cálculos renales e insuficiencia del riñón .
