Definición:

Es un tipo de cáncer que comienza en el pene, un órgano que hace parte del aparato reproductor masculino.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

Se desconoce la causa exacta del cáncer de pene.

El esmegma, una sustancia maloliente, con apariencia de queso, que se encuentra por debajo del prepucio del pene, puede incrementar el riesgo de este tipo de cáncer.

Los hombres no circuncidados que no mantienen el área por debajo del prepucio limpia, así como los que tienen antecedentes de verrugas genitales o el virus del papiloma humano (VPH), están en mayor riesgo de sufrir este extraño trastorno.
