SÃntomas:
La persona puede tener antecedentes familiares de agammaglobulinemia o de otra enfermedad del sistema inmunitario
Los sÃntomas comprenden episodios frecuentes de:
- Sinusitis
- Conjuntivitis
- NeumonÃa
- Bronquitis
- Otras infecciones respiratorias
- Infecciones cutáneas
- Diarrea crónica
Las infecciones aparecen de manera caracterÃstica en los primeros 4 años de vida.
Signos y exámenes:
Este trastorno se confirma por la medición en el laboratorio de las inmunoglobulinas en el suero. Los exámenes pueden ser, entre otros:
- Inmunoelectroforesis en suero
- Inmunoglobulinas cuantitativas (nefelometrÃa)
- IgG usualmente menor de 200 mg/dL
- IgA e IgM casi inconmensurables
- CitometrÃa de flujo para medir los linfocitos B circulantes
