La quimioterapia se utiliza para tratar este tipo de cáncer, con medicamentos de uso común como prednisona, ciclofosfamida, ifosfamida, vincristina, citarabina, doxorubicina, metotrexato y etopósido.
Más de la mitad de las personas con linfoma de Burkitt se pueden curar con quimioterapia intensiva. La tasa de curación puede ser más baja si el cáncer se disemina a la médula ósea o al líquido cefalorraquídeo.
