Coccidioidomicosis
Nombres alternativos:
Coccidiosis; Fiebre del Valle San JoaquÃn; Fiebre del Valle
SÃntomas:
Cualquiera de los siguientes puede ser un sÃntoma:
- Tos
- Dolor en el pecho que varÃa de una sensación de constricción leve a severa
- Fiebre
- EscalofrÃos
- Sudoración nocturna
- Dolor de cabeza
- Rigidez muscular
- Dolores musculares
- Rigidez articular
- Rigidez en el cuello o rigidez en los hombros
- Erupción, puede ser dolorosa, roja en la parte inferior de las piernas ( eritema nodoso )
- Esputo teñido con sangre
- Pérdida del apetito
- Pérdida de peso
- Sibilancias
- Sudoración excesiva
- Cambio en el estado mental
- Sensibilidad a la luz

- Frotis del esputo (examen KOH)
- Cultivo del esputo
- TÃtulo de fijación del complemento para coccidioides en suero
- CSC con diferencial sanguÃneo
- RadiografÃa del tórax
- Prueba cutánea con coccidioidina o esferulina
