Pulgas

Definición:

Son insectos que chupan sangre y que se alimentan de los humanos, los perros, los gatos y de otros animales. Estos insectos no tienen alas.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

Las pulgas prefieren vivir en los gatos y perros, pero también se pueden encontrar en los humanos y otros animales disponibles. Los dueños de las mascotas no se sienten molestos por las pulgas hasta que su mascota se aleja durante un largo período de tiempo y las pulgas deben encontrar otro lugar a donde ir, momento en el cual comienzan a picar a los humanos. Las picaduras con frecuencia ocurren alrededor de la cintura, los tobillos, las axilas y en la curva de los codos y las rodillas.
