Tifus - Prevention

Prevención:

Evite las áreas donde se puedan encontrar pulgas o piojos de rata. Con buenas medidas higiénicas y de salud pública se reduce la población de estos animales.

Las medidas para eliminar los piojos cuando se ha encontrado una infección abarcan:

  • Bañarse
  • Hervir las ropas o evitar las ropas infestadas durante al menos 5 días (los piojos morirán sin alimentarse de sangre)
  • Usar insecticidas (DDT al 10% ; Malathion al 1% o permetrina al 1%)
