Tratamiento:

Comúnmente se utiliza el tratamiento oral con mebendazol durante tres días cuando la infección causa síntomas. Como terapia alternativa puede utilizarse el albendazol.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

Se espera una recuperación total con el tratamiento.

Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:

Es necesario buscar asistencia médica si un adulto o un niño presenta diarrea sanguinolenta. Además de la infección por T. trichiura, existen muchas otras infecciones y enfermedades que pueden causar síntomas similares.
