Infección por tenia de los peces (Diphyllobothrium latum )

Tratamiento:

Para combatir los parásitos, usted recibirá medicamentos, los cuales se administran por vía oral y por lo general en una sola dosis.

El medicamento preferido para las infecciones por tenia es la niclosamida. También se pueden utilizar prazicuantel y albendazol. Igualmente, se pueden requerir inyecciones o suplementos de vitamina B12 para el tratamiento de la anemia megaloblástica que se puede presentar con esta infección.

Pronóstico:

Se puede eliminar la tenia del pescado con una dosis única y no se presentan efectos duraderos.

Posibles complicaciones:

  • Anemia megaloblástica
  • Obstrucción intestinal
