Marca de la cigüeña

Definición:

Es un tipo común de marca de nacimiento que se observa en un recién nacido y que casi siempre es temporal.

El término médico para la marca de la cigüeña es nevo simple y también se denomina parche salmón.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

Las marcas de la cigüeña ocurren en aproximadamente un tercio de todos los bebés recién nacidos.

Este tipo de nevo se debe a un estiramiento (dilatación) de ciertos vasos sanguíneos. Se puede tornar de color más oscuro cuando el niño llora o cuando la temperatura ambiente cambia y puede desvanecerse cuando se lo presiona.
