Prevención:

El tratamiento de los trastornos conexos, como diabetes e insuficiencia renal, puede prevenir algunas neuralgias. Igualmente, el control estricto de la glucemia puede prevenir el daño nervioso en personas con diabetes. En caso de herpes zóster, hay algunos indicios de que los antivirales y una vacuna contra el virus herpes zóster pueden prevenir la neuralgia.
