Poliarteritis nudosa - Treatment

Tratamiento:

El tratamiento implica el uso de medicamentos que inhiben el sistema inmunitario, incluyendo ciclofosfamida y prednisona.

Para la poliarteritis nudosa relacionada con hepatitis, el tratamiento puede implicar plasmaféresis y medicamentos antivirales.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

Los tratamientos actuales que utilizan esteroides y otros medicamentos inmunodepresores, como la ciclofosfamida, pueden mejorar los síntomas y la posibilidad de supervivencia a largo plazo. Las afecciones más graves asociadas con la enfermedad generalmente involucran los riñones y el tracto gastrointestinal. Sin tratamiento, el pronóstico es desalentador.
