Paroniquia - Overview

Infección de la piel alrededor de la uña

Definición:

Es una infección de la piel que ocurre alrededor de las uñas.

Causas:

La paroniquia es bastante común y generalmente es causada por una lesión en el área, por ejemplo, por morderse o arrancarse un uñero (padrastro) o también por recortar o retraer la cutícula.

  • La paroniquia bacteriana es causada por bacterias.
  • La paroniquia candidiósica es causada por un tipo específico de cándida.
  • La paroniquia micótica es causada por un hongo.

Se puede presentar una infección micótica y bacteriana al mismo tiempo.

La paroniquia micótica se puede observar en personas con una infección micótica de la uña. También es común entre las personas con diabetes y las personas cuyas manos permanecen en el agua por mucho tiempo.
