Prevención:
La higienización pública ha disminuido la incidencia de la infestación por anquilostoma en los Estados Unidos. La desparasitación de perros y gatos puede reducir la incidencia entre estos animales. Asimismo, el uso de calzado en las áreas endémicas (donde se sabe que son frecuentes las infecciones por anquilostoma) evita la penetración de las larvas a través de los pies, un lugar común de infestación.
