Eritrasma - Información general

Definición:

Es una infección bacteriana prolongada que generalmente aparece en el área entre la piel superpuesta (pliegues cutáneos).

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

El eritrasma es causado por el Corynebacterium minutissimum. La apariencia típica es la de un parche ligeramente escamoso, café rojizo, con bordes bien definidos. Las lesiones ocurren en áreas húmedas como la ingle, las axilas y los pliegues cutáneos, y pueden producir una ligera picazón.

El eritrasma es más común en los climas cálidos y entre individuos obesos o que padecen diabetes.
