Enfermedad de Duhring

Tratamiento:

Un antibiótico llamado dapsona puede ayudar a la mayoría de los pacientes.

Asimismo, se recomienda una dieta libre de gluten con el fin de ayudar a controlar la enfermedad. El cumplimiento de dicha dieta puede eliminar la necesidad de los medicamentos y prevenir complicaciones posteriores.

Se pueden usar ciertos medicamentos inmunodepresores pero son menos efectivos.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

La enfermedad se puede controlar bien con tratamiento, pero sin éste, el riesgo de cáncer intestinal puede ser significativo.

Posibles complicaciones:

La enfermedad de tiroides se puede encontrar en muchos pacientes que sufren dermatitis herpetiforme. Estos pacientes también son más propensos a desarrollar ciertos cánceres de los intestinos.
