Prevención:

Pregúntele al médico respecto a la vacuna contra el VPH. Las niñas que reciben esta vacuna antes de volverse sexualmente activas reducen su probabilidad de desarrollar cáncer de cuello uterino en un 70%.

Usted puede reducir el riesgo de desarrollar displasia cervical tomando las siguientes medidas:

No fume. El tabaquismo incrementa el riesgo de presentar displasia más grave y cáncer.
Hágase vacunar contra el VPH entre las edades de 9 y 26 años.
No tenga relaciones sexuales hasta que tenga 18 años o más.
Practique relaciones sexuales con precaución y use condón.
Practique la monogamia, lo cual significa que usted solamente tiene un compañero sexual a la vez.
