Pólipos cervicales - Treatment

Tratamiento:

El médico puede extirpar los pólipos durante un procedimiento ambulatorio sencillo. Un pólipo cervical se puede extirpar con una torsión suave. Los pólipos más grandes pueden requerir extirpación por medio de electrocauterización.

Aunque la mayoría de los pólipos cervicales no son cancerosos (benignos), el tejido extirpado se debe enviar a un laboratorio y analizarse posteriormente.

Expectativas (pronóstico):

Generalmente, los pólipos no son cancerosos (benignos), son fáciles de extirpar y por lo general no crecen de nuevo. Las mujeres que tienen pólipos están en riesgo de desarrollar más pólipos.

Complicaciones:

Algunos cánceres cervicales pueden aparecer primero como pólipos. Puede haber sangrado y cólicos ligeros durante unos pocos días después de la extirpación de un pólipo.

Situaciones que requieren asistencia médica:

Solicite una cita con el médico si presenta:

Sangrado vaginal anormal
Flujo vaginal anormal
Períodos anormalmente profusos

Igualmente, consulte con el médico para programar exámenes ginecológicos regulares y determinar con qué frecuencia debe hacerse una citología vaginal.
